Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch Event in Tintwistle today.
Glossop SNT (PCSO Buller) and 3 volunteers from the Hadfield Community Speed Watch Team completed an event on the A628 Manchester Rd, Tintwistle this afternoon, Saturday 6th June - between 1.50 pm and 3.00 pm. The speed limit on this road is 30 mph.
During today's event 1748 vehicles went by the team, of those 9 were recorded driving above 35 mph. with the highest speed being recorded at 39 mph.
This location had been identified by local residents and councillors from Tintwistle as one of their Policing Priorities (Speeding) chosen by the community - with this location identified as a busy high-risk road - through speeding.
As we celebrate the end of National Volunteers’ Week, Glossop SNT and the CREST team at HQ would like to take a moment to thank each one of our volunteers in our team for the incredible contribution they make to our communities.
Their time, dedication, and commitment to Community Speed Watch truly makes a difference. By volunteering, they are helping to make our roads safer, influencing driver’s behaviour & raising awareness. That impact reaches far beyond the roadside—it helps protect families, neighbours, and the wider community.
We know that volunteering often means giving up your own time, sometimes in less-than-ideal weather, and always with a strong sense of responsibility. Your efforts do not go unnoticed, and they are very much appreciated.
On behalf of everyone involved, thank you for the energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism you bring to CSW. You are an essential part of what makes this initiative so successful.
We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of the team.
